Gas Lipstick hits SongHi with HIM’s drums!
Thursday, 24 March 2011 08:10
Laydees and gentlemen, we're launching our newest campaign! This time around, we're focusing on the immense talent of Gas Lipstick! Making music, it’s a gas!
Mr. Lipstick's prowess in beating drums spreads across genres without even the slightest difficulty. We are, after all, talking about a guy who can drum his way into women's hearts in HIM, but he also knows that drumming at just the right frequency and power will separate the flesh from the bones. This is a guy who can both love and kill with drums, and we in SongHi.com are just happy that, in our case, it's the former.

Gas Lipstick Drum Kits - with ready made beats!

We have created five different Gas Lipstick instruments that we hope will prove useful in making drum heavy tracks. For the first time ever we’re launching three of these instruments with ready-made drum beats: loops!

One of these kit’s is for free – this four-sample drum kit is your basic set for all things good and cool, and can be found in our demo room, but those who want unlimited power might want to check out the other four.
As always, these special, all-powerful crystallizations of divine inspiration can be found in the SongHi Store. Check out what The Gas Lipstick Drums, Burning "Gas" Drum Kit, Majestic "Gas" Drums, and "HIM Drummer" Kit can do. Be careful, though – we know one person who tested out all four at once, and the geologists registered it on Richter scale. (Richter_magnitude_scale)

Gas Lipstick signed TW Steel watch!

The winner of the competition wins an awesome "Gas Lipstick"-signatured TW Steel Watch!

How to join the Gas Lipstick competition

Participating in the Gas Lipstick song making competition is easy: make a song wherever you want, using whatever instruments please you, and in any style or genre you want. After all, genres do not limit Mr. Lipstick himself, so why would they limit you?!
When the song is ready, save it, but use the word "GAS" in the name of the song. This is your chance to be creative – making music is fun, i.e. it's a gas, but naming your songs can be difficult.
We're giving you one piece that you have to use, which ought to make the song naming process as entertaining as making the song itself.
And remember, you can make as many songs as you like, be it one, five, or 100. Go crazy, friends!

Competition runtime

The Gas Lipstick song making competition lasts through early spring – starting on Wednesday 9th of March and ending on Tuesday 11th of April 2011.

SongHi.com and Universal Music kickstart their global co-operation by launching a spectacular Rihanna song making contest

Universal Music has hand picked music making game SongHi.com as their collaborator on the release of Rihanna's newest album, LOUD. SongHi.com launches a Rihanna themed song making competition, where the main prize is a trip for two to Sydney, Australia, to see Rihanna perform live. The participants are not required to have any experience in making music – anyone can win, as long as their song gets at least 20 Facebook or SongHi likes.

With browser based SongHi.com, the music game to fame, anyone can make music. With its ease of use, Rihanna fans around the world can take one step closer to their idol: creating music just like her. The players can make their own songs online, interact with each other, and share their songs over Facebook and Twitter. The players can also gather a collection of unique virtual instruments, clothing, accessories and backdrops.

With the Rihanna song making competition, Universal Music and SongHi.com set out for global co-operation.

“The collaboration with SongHi.com is the start of something beautiful”, says Mr. Mikko Haapala, Digital Manager of Universal Music. “We have long sought for new, innovative and interactive venues to approach our fan base, and provide fans something extraordinary. SongHi.com delivers all this, and more”, Mr. Haapala concludes.

“Universal Music has understood the endless possibilities that internet provides for music consumption, and SongHi.com fills these needs par excellence. Having a superstar like Rihanna in our game is very welcome news to the fans. The songs made in SongHi sound really awesome, and should the game serve as the debut stage for up and coming stars, I wouldn't be surprised,” beams SongHi Entertainment's Global Sales Director, Thomas Westerberg.

The Rihanna campaign opens the co-operation agreement made by Universal Music and SongHi Entertainment. The collaboration aims to bring Universal Music's most popular artists to SongHi.com, where an entertaining fan game with unique competitions will be built.

Justin Bieber spurs music making game SongHi.com to global conquest
Tuesday, 05 October 2010 13:15

The Justin Bieber campaign is just the first fruit from Universal Music and SongHi.com's cooperation

SongHi Entertainment Ltd. and Universal Music have signed a contract that brings virtual music studios, fan merchandise and international superstar contests into the music making game SongHi.com. The collaboration offers a completely new way for music lovers to communicate with their idols. With a fan world built around Justin Bieber, SongHi.com launches in the Nordic and Baltic regions on October 5th, 2010.

The collaboration between SongHi.com and Universal Music will begin in October with an expansion built around the hottest sensation in pop today, Justin Bieber. SongHi.com will host a virtual studio and signature instruments including Justin Bieber’s vocals, and a merchandise marketplace with Justin Bieber themed apparel and backgrounds. SongHi.com will also kick off a song making contest where the winner receives a VIP trip for two to see Justin Bieber live in Miami, Florida.

”SongHi.com’s worldwide conquest will get a real kickstart with Justin Bieber and Universal Music. This collaboration gives us whole new possibilities for developing the game and becoming more international. The Nordic and Baltic regions are just the start, our goal is to conquer the whole webverse!”, boasts SongHi Entertainment Marketing Director Veli Palevaara.

SongHi.com piqued Universal Music’s interest early on, and plans to utilize the music game are already expansive. SongHi offers record companies new profit models via sales of virtual items directly to consumers.

”We’ve always searched for new ways to bring our artists closer to fans, and SongHi.com is the perfect solution for our needs. In the virtual studios, fans can create music using the actual instruments used by their idols and utilize authentic vocal samples in their songs, as well as communicate with the artists and other fans,” says Universal Music’s Digital Manager, Mikko Haapala. ”We believe that the game will evolve into a community for all music lovers, with the real and virtual music worlds completing one another.”

The collaboration will deepen as SongHi.com introduces new artists and features. Future updates include more versatile community features, the ability to create full length songs, and even your own band.
